“After Tragedy” will premiere at the 2015 Atlantic City Cinefest. It was produced by students Mark VanZevenBergen, Bianca Beck, Matthew Torres, and Joe Savin for the Spring 2015 Documentary Production class.
In the small New Jersey town of Haddon Heights, April 20th 1995 is a date that will never be forgotten. Resident Leslie Nelson (formerly known as Glenn Nelson before getting a sex change operation) was being investigated for child molestation charges when she pulled out an AK-47 and shot three police officers, killing two and critically wounding another. The film revisits the events of April 20th and explores how individuals, and the community, were affected both in 1995 and today.
The film will screen Sunday, October 18th at 5:30pm in the Noyes Arts Garage venue. For schedules and tickets, please visit the festival site.
